WWE Hall of Famers Who Have Teased In-Ring Return

The world of pro wrestling is filled with tales of tragic retirements and triumphant comebacks. Bret Hart was forced to retire from the thing he loved the most due to, um, Goldberg. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin wrestled his first match in 19 years at WrestleMania 38. Then there are legends who say they’ve got one more left in the tank. That being said, here are five WWE Hall of Famers who have teased a comeback.

Trish Stratus

Trish Stratus is one of the most popular WWE superstars of all time. Trish inspired entire generations of pro wrestlers who grew up on the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression Era. Trish hasn’t wrestled since 2019 when she took on Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam.

The WWE Hall of Famer continues to tease a comeback on social media and that too against former RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Trish is also open to the idea of squaring off against one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Sasha Banks.

Lita

Lita has had her share of comebacks in the past couple of years. Most recently, she squared off against Becky Lynch in a title match at the Elimination Chamber premium live event in Saudi Arabia. Lita was also part of the Women’s Royal Rumble match in January 2022.

The former WWE Women’s Champion said during an interview with Chris Van Vliet that she’s not done with pro wrestling and would gladly respond to WWE if they approach her with an offer for a match in future.

Beth Phoenix

Beth Phoenix dominated the women’s division during her first stint with the WWE. The Glamazon mowed through opponents and enjoyed multiple title reigns in the process. She tagged with her husband Edge to take on The Miz and Maryse at this year’s Royal Rumble premium live event.

Beth has taken to Twitter multiple times to express her concern for Edge’s latest heel persona. She also can’t get over the fact that Rhea Ripley has joined the stable. Rhea, meanwhile, is continuing to call out Beth for an in-ring confrontation.

Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle is one of the greatest of all time and there’s no arguing that. Kurt was a machine inside the ring and could pull of any character with ease. Though WWE made him wrestle his farewell match at WrestleMania 35, Angle has gone on record saying that he didn’t leave on his own terms.

The 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist recently revealed that he’s working on a new project with WWE. “I can’t talk about it but that’s what I’m waiting on and I don’t wanna mess that up. The company’s been so good to me and I wanna be loyal to them,” he told Hannibal TV.

Ric Flair

Diamonds are forever, and so is Ric Flair perfectly sums up the illustrious career of the legendary Ric Flair. Flair hasn’t wrestled in nearly a decade but has been making headlines for taking bumps and throwing punches of late.

ESPN has reported that Ric Flair will wrestle one last match the day after WWE SummerSlam. The bout will take place after the Starrcast fan convention at the Nashville Fairgrounds. His opponent and the type of match remain unclear.
