Pat Patterson passed away this week at the age of 79-years-old. His legacy will live forever through the countless memories he was a part of in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

Patterson’s 1981 Alley Fight against Sgt. Slaughter is regarded as a classic. They paid homage to that classic moment in pro wrestling history before NXT this week.

Triple H revealed during his media call that they paid tribute to Pat Patterson during the setup before NXT this week. During a 15 minute break, they played Patterson’s classic match against Sgt. Slaughter.

He said that all of the talent and crew watched the match on the Capitol Wrestling Center screens. They were cheering and screaming at the screens, and Triple H said it was like being at a live event.

Triple H went on to say that Patterson would have loved that moment as he still made a crowd of people pop over his match decades later.
