The WWE x AAA Worlds Collide Premium Live Event was truly memorable from start to finish, headlined by Chad Gable facing off against El Hijo del Vikingo. While there were many legends at the show, JBL was noticeably absent and now JBL has explained his absence from the event.
While speaking on the Something to Wrestle With podcast, JBL was asked about WWE x AAA Worlds Collide, where AAA wrestlers were integrated on a WWE Premium Live Event, and a match for Money in the Bank was set up during the afternoon show, which was Worlds Collide.
“What did you think of the execution of this? Integrating AAA talent on the WWE pay-per-view? Putting together a match for the evening show on the afternoon show?”
The WWE Hall of Famer said he thought it was great and really liked how the two companies worked together. He watched a lot of clips from the show and noticed that some people online said he was supposed to be there and reports said the same.
JBL didn’t know where that rumor came from and said it was never actually planned, even though he would have liked to be part of it. JBL also said the AAA show looked exciting and full of energy.
“I think it’s awesome—I think the integration was great. I saw a lot of the show clips. Apparently, on the internet, I was supposed to be there—it was reported. I don’t know where that came from. I would have loved to have been there. But as far as I know, it wasn’t ever planned—so I’m not sure where that came from. But look at what’s going on at the AAA show.”
This comes after reports suggested that JBL was supposed to appear at the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide Premium Live Event. Regardless, we’ll have to see whether JBL will make an appearance on WWE television in the future, as fans were disappointed he wasn’t at Worlds Collide.
