AEW has been doing their best to make as much noise as they can while wrapping up 2024. That being said, some headlines have included their stars getting pulled from GCW events. Now, it appears that Will Ospreay won’t be attending an event outside Tony Khan’s company, even if some fans may have expected him to be there.
The PROGRESS Unboxing event is known for its surprise appearances by major names. That being said, Will Ospreay won’t be there this time around.
This year’s event, which is called Curtain Call, has already confirmed one notable debut. El Hijo Del Vikingo will make his first appearance for the promotion in the UK on December 29. That being said, Ospreay won’t be making the trip.
On Friday morning, PROGRESS shared a statement from Will Ospreay on social media, ruling himself out of the surprises for Unboxing VII. He made it very clear that this time around, the AEW star is not going to be available.
“I’m not on Unboxing this year. Surprise!”
To that, Tate Mayfairs of PROGRESS tweeted out to say, “He ain’t ever coming back cause he knows he owes me a rematch and this time I’ll knock him out.” We will have to see if that kind of statement brings Ospreay back to PROGRESS sooner than later.
The surprise may have been that Will Ospreay will miss the event. That being said, he was never promoted for the show, but some fans might have wanted to see him show up for some sort of cameo.
