Trish Stratus and Lita Address Rumors of Planned WrestleMania Match

WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita paved the way for future generations of female wrestlers thanks to their incredible feats in the business. That said, rumors suggested they were supposed to face each other at WrestleMania but it never happened and now Lita and Stratus have addressed the rumors.

While speaking on Ring the Belle, Trish Stratus and Lita were asked about the long-standing rumor that they were supposed to have a one-on-one ladder match at WrestleMania, which never happened.

When asked about it, Lita explained that it was hard to believe the rumor, especially when they didn’t even expect to be in the main event at the time. While a ladder match would have made sense given their history with TLC matches, it wasn’t something they were working toward.

“Honestly, when you don’t even believe you’ll be in the main event that day, it’s hard to think there was any truth to that rumor. Would it have made sense? Absolutely. With all the TLC matches we were part of, it definitely would’ve fit.”

Trish Stratus then clarified that during WrestleMania season starting in January, their focus was already on a different match they were building toward, making the rumored ladder match unlikely to have been in the plans.

“However, the WrestleMania match we were focused on was already in motion. Once WrestleMania season started in January, that’s what we were working toward.”

Fans have always wanted to see a ladder match between Trish Stratus and Lita because of their history of creating big moments in WWE. Even though it never happened, their impact still inspires today’s female Superstars.
