AEW President Tony Khan might be busy running one of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world, but he’s also passionate about movies. That passion led him to a late-night Twitter debate where he defended his childhood movie picks—well into the early hours of the morning.

It all started when Khan shared a nostalgic list of films he watched during Christmas 1994, including classics like The Santa Clause and Dumb and Dumber. He even credited a video from the Costco Guys for inspiring him to revisit his love for the cinema.

“In the month of December 1994 I went to The Santa Clause, Dumb and Dumber, Star Trek Generations, Street Fighter, Mixed Nuts, Richie Rich, IQ, [and] Trapped in Paradise. 30 years later, haven’t been to a movie in quite a while. [The video] just when I thought I was out, you pull me back in.”

While many fans enjoyed Khan’s trip down memory lane, one Twitter user wasn’t impressed, calling him “SO cringy.” The comment sparked a fiery response from Khan, who didn’t shy away from addressing the criticism—even as the clock ticked past 1 a.m.

“Why is me tweeting about the movies I saw around Christmastime as a 12-year-old kid so cringy? I’d be happy to take your constructive feedback. What makes your tweets better than mine?” Khan clapped back, inviting the fan to justify their critique.

Khan’s late-night tweets didn’t stop there. He engaged with several other users. While some fans applauded his transparency, one user doubled down on calling his posts “cringy,” reigniting discussions about his social media presence.

This isn’t the first time Khan’s online interactions have stirred the pot. The AEW head honcho has previously been called out for appealing to a niche fanbase rather than catering to casual viewers, but his unapologetic passion for wrestling and pop culture remains a hallmark of his leadership.

The debate has fans split—some praising Khan for being relatable and others questioning the AEW boss’s decision to spend hours on Twitter responding to criticism.
