WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin made a shocking return to in-ring action at WrestleMania 38, but he has not competed in the ring since then. With that said, there’s no denying just how big of a mainstream star he is and it appears Ridge Texada honored him during a recent game.

Ridge Texada honored “Stone Cold” Steve Austin during North Texas’ victory over Stephen F. Austin on September 7. After making an interception, Texada celebrated by smashing two water bottles together and chugging them, mimicking Austin’s famous WWE celebration. He also wore the WCW World Heavyweight Championship belt during his celebration.

Steve Austin, known for his wrestling career, played linebacker and defensive line for North Texas during his football days. North Texas secured a 35-20 win, improving to 2-0 on the season.

As for Steve Austin, he recently addressed making his in-ring return at WrestleMania 41 and made it clear he is open to the idea as long as there is a purpose. Therefore, we’ll have to see what Austin will do in the end, but he would certainly appreciate Texada’s homage in the meantime.
