Jinder Mahal became a household name among the Indian audience when he won the WWE championship in 2017. However, his efforts and years of hard work with WWE following his big win proved unsuccessful, and WWE released him back in April.

Amidst his consideration for the next move in his career, The Modern Day Maharaja was recently spotted at the T20 Cricket World Cup match between his country of origin, India and his current residence country, Canada.

A user on X called out Jinder Mahal for cheering for Canada in the match after using his Indian origins to reach the heights of success in WWE. Mahal took notice and immediately fired back at them via his X, claiming that he supported both countries, the growth of this sport, and the competitive spirit involved.

“I support both teams. I support the growth of the sport and good competition. 🇮🇳 🇨🇦.”

On his work front, Jinder Mahal will now be wrestling under the name Raj Dhesi. Moreover, it has been announced that Mahal is set to return at the July 26 Black Label Pro show, Old Habits Die Screaming.

While it remains to be seen if Mahal will join AEW or any other major pro wrestling company this year, the former WWE champion is already receiving significant interest from various promotions. In the meantime, he stays firm in supporting both countries, which has given him a lot to excel in life.
