WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has accomplished a lot during his time in WWE, having a remarkable rookie year and going on to become a legend in the business. He gained favor with the likes of Vince McMahon, earning his trust in the process. It appears Angle revealed that WWE contracts didn’t allow talent to crossover to the UFC.
The Olympic Gold Medalist earned several accolades throughout his career, including becoming a multi-time World Champion. Angle has also faced many legendary pro wrestlers in his career, which includes the likes of The Rock, The Undertaker and more.
While speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience, Kurt Angle talked about a crossover between WWE and UFC, which remains a huge topic of discussion even now. Angle revealed that WWE contracts didn’t allow talent to crossover to the UFC and vice versa.
“I know that Dana [Dana White] and Vince [Vince McMahon], their contracts have specifically, ‘You can’t go to WWE.’ If you’re WWE, ‘You can’t go to UFC.’ They were going against each other when they shouldn’t be. WWE should be worried about AEW, not UFC. Before the merger, I don’t know what’s going on now. In their contracts, it was ‘you can’t crossover to UFC, UFC can’t crossover to WWE.”
Brock Lesnar was the only exception, as he squared off against Mark Hunt at UFC 200 back in 2016 while still being employed by WWE. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see whether a WWE and UFC crossover will ever happen in the future.
