WWE Hall Of Famer Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts remains one of the most respected pro wrestling legends of all time. His ability to cut eerie promos continues to mesmerize fans even now. Fans have been concerned about his health for a long time and now it appears he claims he suffered almost 100 concussions over his career.
Jake Roberts’ health is always something fans worry about and there is a good reason for that. Back in 2020, the WWE Hall Of Famer had to pull out of an AEW show due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
Jake Roberts even gave an update on his health ahead of his third hip surgery. In fact, his Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and emphysema required him to use an oxygen tank for over a year.
While speaking on The Snake Pit podcast, Jake Roberts addressed Chris Benoit’s tragic double murder-suicide, which was believed to have been caused due to multiple head injuries. Jake Roberts claimed that he suffered 90 concussions over his career.
“I mean, I went and did the test and stuff. We figured out that I had at least three concussions a year. Now that’s bad. That’s real bad considering that I wrestled for 30 years. That’s 90 concussions. So what’s my brain look like?
I was struggling there for a while talking because I’d not talked a lot,” Roberts added. “Doing this [podcast] has helped me … But yeah, [I’m] scared to death [about] what’s going to wind up. I look at the next 5-10 years. What’s my brain gonna do? If I’m here.”
Jake Roberts also believes modern pro wrestling took out big tradition that used to be the norm back in the day. Regardless, Roberts has suffered a lot in his career and we do hope he keeps himself in great health no matter what.
