WWE television has had Michael Cole provide the soundtrack for countless events over the years. His play-by-play style is studied by would-be announcers all over, but the company has not found someone who can fill his shoes.

During his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T spoke Michael Cole getting both RAW and SmackDown announcing gigs. Booker also mentioned how Big E jacked his “sucka” catchphrase.

Booker T also went into Michael Cole’s new assignment in WWE. He knows Cole well, and the two-time WWE Hall of Famer stated that Michael Cole actually wanted to wind down his career before getting promoted to take the helm on two shows.

Michael Cole ain’t never gonna get to retire, man! He can forget about it. You know, it’s hard finding the next Michael Cole, too. I’m glad in certain ways, but I’m waiting on Vic Joseph to get his shot.

I do understand wanting to have Michael Cole as both brands. I do know what Michael Cole wants to wind down as well, so we’ll have to see how long this thing will last. One thing I know about Michael Cole is he’s a team player, man. He’s a solider, and wherever he is needed, he’s gonna step up to the plate.

WWE RAW saw Wade Barrett and Michael Cole this week, and this Friday will see Corey Graves and Vic Joseph be joined by Michael Cole as well. Cole even said during SummerSlam that he will be “along for the ride” on SmackDown. It could be fun to have a three-man announce team on the blue brand.

Michael Cole has a great life at home, and his family doesn’t even watch WWE. He also made a ton of money during his time with Vince McMahon’s company, so everything must come to an end. That being said, it doesn’t appear that Michael Cole will be hanging up his announcer headset any time soon.
