Cody Rhodes was immediately booked as a major star after returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38 and in just a span of one year, he went on to main event WrestleMania 39 this year. However, he didn’t accomplish what fans wanted and now it appears he won’t be jealous if Jey Uso beats Roman Reigns.
The American Nightmare challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 39 Sunday. Fans all over the world believed Rhodes would finally end Roman Reigns’ run as the champion.
However, that was not the case as Roman Reigns won the match after several interferences from The Bloodline. Cody Rhodes’ loss angered many fans and pro wrestlers alike.
While speaking with Uproxx, Cody discussed the immense significance of being the person to finally defeat Roman Reigns and made it clear he won’t be jealous if Jey Uso beats Roman Reigns.
“I think whoever is in the position who pins Roman Reigns and leaves with the WWE Undisputed Championship, it’s almost a moment that I can’t tell you how that will feel or I can’t tell you how that will look until we see it, because I think it’s just starting to dawn on people how significant it could be.
If that is Jey Uso, hats off to him, amazing. Not a shred of jealousy in my body. That is as pure and good a man as you can find.If it ended up a situation where I was able to get back and it was me, I wouldn’t be prepared for that onslaught of feeling.
We will have to wait and see whether The American Nightmare will be able to topple The Beast Incarnate at the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event next month, as the path to Roman Reigns seems distant right now.
