There is no doubt that Bayley is one of the top female Superstars in all of WWE for good reason. She truly loves being a heel and revels in the role, as Bayley is such a good fit for it now. That being said, it appears that a tiny bit of her NXT character still remains.
Bayley began her career in NXT with her ‘hugger’ gimmick and was all around the most loveable babyface in the company. Together with her inflatable huggers, Bayley made sure fans had a smile on their faces whenever they saw her.
That all changed in 2019 after Bayley turned heel for the first time. In the four years since Bayley has established herself as a solid heel in the company and continues to get praise for it.
While speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Bayley talked about the evolution of her character. Bayley admitted that a tiny bit of her NXT character still exists within her even now.
“There is a tiny part deep in there that still drives me, pushes me,” Bayley admitted. “It’s the little bit inside me that says it’s all worth it because I get very annoyed — I’m old and cranky. I’m getting too old for this nonsense, for these idiots that don’t believe in me, that can’t see me, and who think I don’t have what it takes.
But there’s a little, tiny piece of that old NXT Bayley in there that says, ‘It’s okay, man. It’s all worth it.’ ‘This is your dream. Just keep going, and do what you set out to do when you were 10 years old.'”
Bayley is also part of the Money In The Bank ladder match. We will have to wait and see whether Bayley will be able to win the Money In The Bank ladder match next month and eventually become a champion again.
What’s your view on what Bayley said? Do you want her to become a babyface again? Sound off in the comments!
