Seth Rollins is the Visionary of WWE and has continuously overperformed with whatever task WWE has given him over the years. Rollins’ current character is arguably his best and he has always excelled in big matches. This includes his major win at WrestleMania 31. Now it appears Rollins pitched to beat Reigns at the Show of Shows that year.

Seth Rollins last faced Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship to kick off the Royal Rumble event last year. The Visionary played mind games with Reigns as he brought back the Shield gimmick for the match.

Rollins has usually beaten Reigns in big matches, with wins over him at WrestleMania 31 and Money in the Bank 2016 as well. Rollins cashing in the Money In The Bank during Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns’ main event match at WrestleMania 31 remains one of the best moments in WWE history.

While speaking on My Love Letter to Wrestling, Seth Rollins stated that Roman Reigns’ babyface run got “tepid” responses from fans at that point in time. Rollins then recalled how he pitched his own title win against the Tribal Chief.

“I thought it was a great opportunity to create a moment unlike any we’ve ever seen. I thought it was a great way to build myself but also to build Roman and give him somebody to chase. I just didn’t think the time was right, I didn’t think the audience was ready for that victory, and fortunately for me I think people saw it that way as well.”

Seth Rollins is now the WWE World Heavyweight Champion while Roman Reigns remains the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. We’ll have to see if the two will cross paths again someday.
