Chelsea Green debuted on the main roster on Friday Night Smackdown back in 2018. Unfortunately, her time in the company was marred by a series of injuries and she was subsequently fired. Green eventually found her way back to WWE earlier this year and now it appears that her gimmick wasn’t even her own idea.

Chelsea Green’s return to WWE during the Royal Rumble this year was met with lot of positive reception. Since her return, Chelsea Green has been part of Monday Night RAW, where she has been portraying the role of a ‘Karen.’

Chelsea Green is largely seen complaining to Adam Pearce about how things are run in the company and wanting to talk to the manager – which are signature traits of any woman who is like a ‘Karen.’

While speaking on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, Chelsea Green talked about the origins of her ‘Karen’ gimmick. Green revealed that the gimmick wasn’t even her own idea.

“It was not an idea I had. Let me tell you something, I am not shy. I will pitch 101 things and the internet makes fun of me for it, and I don’t care. My favorite thing to do is to come up with pitches that are so ridiculous and out there, but Karen was not my idea.

I kind of was like, ‘Well, I want to start it tonight. If I don’t win this thing, when I get out of the ring, I’m gonna start being a Karen,’ and so I just did it.”

Chelsea Green is currently teaming up with Sonya Deville and will be competing for the vacant WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on the upcoming episode of Monday Night RAW. We’ll have to see if Green and Deville will become the new champions.
