WWE brought a big show to Saudi Arabia with Night of Champions, and it was full of unexpected moments. Few people would have also thought that WWE would be allowed to present three women’s matches when their deal first started five years ago. Things have certainly changed since then.

PW Insider reported behind their paywall that WWE was very happy about the fact that they had three female matches on the Night of Champions card. Trish Stratus vs Becky Lynch joined Women’s Title defenses on each brand.

There were quite a few people in the company very happy about the fact they presented three women’s matches today, feeling it was a sign of how far things have come since their deal with the Kingdom has started.

Saudi Arabia brought WWE in to help boost their PR. They want to make people stop thinking about them in controversial fashion, and allowing so many women to wrestle in their country, along with Sami Zayn, would help the narrative that they are progressing.

We will have to see how WWE’s deal with Saudi Arabia continues from here. At this point, it is very beneficial for both side. Women are also along for the ride, and they are all having great experiences along the way.
