CM Punk remains one of the biggest and most controversial names in recent memory, whose mouth has only managed to cause more drama and trouble than anything else. This has been a recurring thing for many years now and it’s unlikely to stop anytime soon. CM Punk’s drama with AEW remains a major topic of discussion and now it appears that Teddy Long believes it’s all a work.

CM Punk has been absent since All Out last year and fans wondered when he would finally return. It was then reported that The Second City Saint will be returning to AEW programming as the main attraction for their new show AEW Collision. There are also plans to make it a soft brand split so as to keep Punk and The Elite separate.

Of course, more drama ensued during the show’s announcement, as CM Punk was absent for the entire duration. This was due to a disagreement regarding the return of Ace Steel and led to a lot of issues between AEW and CM Punk.

Thankfully, the matter seems to have been resolved and now things will be going according to plan. While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestlebinge, WWE Hall Of Famer Teddy Long talked about CM Punk and AEW’s current situation. Long made it clear that he believes it is all a work.

“It’s called drama. It’s drama and what it does is make you hurry up and wait. It’s all basically a work.

Like I said, if it was me, I’d tease it all the way up until people think he’s coming in and he walks right out on WWE TV…that’s what I would do.”

CM Punk will be part of AEW Collision’s debut on June 17th after lot of negotiation. Punk has already planted the seeds for his return as well. We will have to wait and see how Punk’s return will be received by fans on AEW Collision.

What’s your view on what Teddy Long said? Do you still think the drama is all a work? Let us know in the comments!
