WWE is a great home for a lot of pro wrestlers, but it’s not the best fit for everyone. The company shut down their NXT UK brand, and that saw an influx of talent to NXT. Sadly, things just haven’t panned out as the Grizzled Young Veterans would have liked.

The Grizzled Young Veterans became the Dyad as part of Joe Gacy’s Schism stable in NXT. This was a nice spot for them, but they eventually requested their releases. Those release requests were not granted in the end, but they don’t plan on sticking around.

During the press conference for NXT Battleground, Shawn Michaels addressed the Dyad requesting their releases. He expressed a desire to help all talents grow in NXT, and as long as they are willing to work, then NXT wants to work with them.

PW Insider covered the press conference, and the outlet provided the following notes about what Shawn Michaels said.

Shawn was also asked about the Grizzled Young Veterans requesting a release and not being granted one. He had wanted them to come over from the UK, hoping that everyone could find success in WWE. Regardless of who enters WWE, he wants to assist them in achieving success in the industry as a whole. Shawn understands their sentiments, but he bears no ill feelings and still desires to see them in significant roles. As long as they are willing to work, he is willing to utilize their talents.

We will have to keep a close eye on the Schism faction. Joe Gacy and Ava might be the only two members left after a while. Only time will tell what the Dyad end up doing, because they would be walking away from a good thing with WWE.

What’s your take on the Dyad in NXT? Do you understand why they would want to leave? Sound off in the comments!
