CM Punk is undoubtedly one of the most controversial wrestlers in the business right now and a proper heat magnet. With his AEW return under question, reports suggested that The Elite don’t want to work with Punk. Now it appears that Jim Cornette stated that The Young Bucks are afraid of CM Punk.

CM Punk chose violence when he went nuclear on The Elite during the post-AEW All Out media scrum. He would then get into a brawl with The Elite afterwards and changed the course of AEW in a big way.

Reports have also suggested that The Young Bucks do not want to work with CM Punk whatsoever. That said, Kenny Omega is more open to working with Punk. That was merely just the beginning.

During the announcement of AEW Collision, many expected CM Punk to be a huge part of it. However, he wasn’t mentioned at all and it was due to Punk, AEW and Warner Bros Discovery being at odds.

The falling out stemmed from disagreement regarding the return of Ace Steel and this has put a big question mark on CM Punk’s future in AEW. While speaking to Inside the Ropes, Jim Cornette stated that he believes The Young Bucks are scared of CM Punk.

“Well, yeah, and the reason for that is on television, they can say, well, we were playing the heels. But in the locker room, they’re scared s****** of him and don’t want him anywhere around because he beat the s*** out of them. That’s the difference, that’s the difference in this and the previous era of the wrestling business is that even if a guy lost a fight, he wasn’t scared to be around the f****** guy. He just got p****** off about it and either left the territory or sucked it up and lived with it, but nobody was scared. And they’re scared.”

While things are very grim when it comes to CM Punk’s situation, Punk’s AEW Collision deal is not dead yet. Warner Bros Discovery is hopeful AEW and CM Punk will be able to work out their differences. We’ll have to see whether CM Punk will finally return to AEW television as part of Collision’s debut.
