WWE employed quite a few talented performers who made strides in the company and got over organically with fans. Matt Cardona is certainly one of those former WWE Superstars, who simply didn’t have luck on his side. Now it appears that he brought back his old gimmick in a return of his popular Z! True Long Island Story series.

For those who do not know, Matt Cardona was known as Zack Ryder during his time in WWE. He struggled to gain significant screen time and was unable to truly break out as a star there. He was eventually released by WWE in 2020 and went on to become the Indy God in the independent circuit.

Matt Cardona became popular during his WWE run due to his internet show Z! True Long Island Story, which was seen as a pioneering move by Cardona – as he capitalized on YouTube long before WWE ever did.

Matt Cardona took to Twitter and filmed a return episode of Z! True Long Island Story, featuring the return of Zack Ryder and Steph De Lander’s Persia Pirotta character. As seen in the video, Pirotta stole Ryder’s Internet Championship, before Ryder chased her into a limousine. The episode ended with the limo blowing up, using footage from Vince McMahon’s limo explosion from 2007.
