WWE Pitches Surprising Heel Turn For Former Champion On SmackDown

WWE has a lot of plans for their future, especially after they rest things a bit after the 2023 WWE Draft. It seems that might call for a surprising heel turn for a former champion.

PW Insider reports that there are internal reports to turn Asuka heel. She is currently a babyface, and enjoying that fresh look on her character. At this time, it is unclear whether that will actually go down as planned.

There has been a pitch to turn Asuka heel on the Smackdown brand, PWInsiderElite.com has learned.  There was talk of her vs. Bianca Belair for Night of Champions a few weeks ago.

We will have to see if Asuka turns heel. This could certainly shake up the WWE SmackDown roster in a big way, because she is a competitor who can do a lot of damage as a heel.

Asuka has portrayed a heel and babyface in WWE. The fact that she can play both roles should also speak to her versatility as a performer. No matter how Triple H uses her, Asuka has all the tools she needs to make a lot of noise.
