Becky Lynch is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in WWE, whose value continues to skyrocket with every passing week. Big Time Becks shocked the world when she won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Lita this year, but it appears she believes that was never the original plan.

Back in February, WWE Hall of Famer Lita showed up to set up huge title match against Damage CTRL. It culminated in Trish Stratus returning to WWE television and ensuring that Becky Lynch and Lita don’t get screwed over.

In the end, Becky Lynch and Lita won the match and became the new champions. However, that did not last long as Trish Stratus turned heel on Becky Lynch right after they lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships last month on an episode of Monday Night RAW.

While speaking on Mark Andrews’s My Love Letter to Wrestling podcast, Becky Lynch talked about her current feud with Trish Stratus. Lynch stated that she believes winning the tag team titles with Lita was never part of the original plans and it was more of a detour in the grand scheme of things.

Well, it was all a bit crazy (winning Women’s Tag Titles with Lita). When that was decided, I don’t think that was never meant to be the plan and then they just took a side road and decided that would be the best outcome and I think what was so great going into that match was that nobody knew what was going to happen and people had ideas and this could happen and then we could go this way or we could go that way and there was so many ways we could go and then to be standing side by side with the woman that inspired you to get into this in the first place when we’re talking about that grassroots thing of being back and I was coming down with my dyed red hair and my baggy pants and wearing my thong outside my clothes and trying to look like Lita and here I was standing side by side as an equal about to go capture the tag titles.

If you’re telling your teenage self that’s gonna happen when you’re older, teenage self would slap you across the face and tell you to get realistic, you know what I mean? So yeah, it was really awesome but she’s over the years become such a great friend and a mentor and I think because she was that misfit, that little rock and roll grunger that had big dreams and she recognized that in me, that it didn’t necessarily fit the mold but I had that love for the business and I think we’ve kind of been kindred spirits in that way.

Sometimes as a babyface, I almost don’t know how to interact with other babyfaces because The Man is so untrusting of everybody because she’s been burned so many times that sometimes I’m like… hello friend? (she laughed) I feel very awkward in that setting but if I was going to have a tag team partner, you couldn’t ask for better. But even having gotten to do the story with her last year, as short as it was, it was one of the stories in wrestling that I’ve been most proud of and one of the matches I’m most proud of so now I’ve had a lot of history with the person who inspired me the most, the woman who inspired me the most which is great.

Becky Lynch returned on this past week’s episode of Monday NIght RAW and took out Trish Stratus. We will have to wait and see how WWE will book their feud, as it will likely last long time.
