The WWE Women’s Division has seen quite a lot of growth over the past several years, but that does not mean it is not without its flaws. This is largely due to there being no mid-card title in the company for women. It appears WWE even had plans for a mid-card title but they were nixed.

In the past, Dana Brooke had suggested the WWE 24/7 Championship be repurposed as the women’s equivalent of the Intercontinental Championship. Of course, that did not happen as WWE ended up removing the title entirely.

While speaking to Fox News, Zelina Vega was asked about a mid-card belt for the women’s division in WWE. Vega talked about the time she won the Queen Of The Ring back in 2021.

The Puerto Rican star revealed that she wanted to defend the crown like a championship all the time. However, that did not end up happening as the company did not find any need for it.

“And to be fair, I thought that’s kind of what Queen of the Ring could have been. When I won that crown, I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m down to put it on the line.’ Like, we’ll have matches for the crown.

There were so many ideas that I had for Queen of the Ring. But I think because it was just so new, and it was the first ever, you know, they put me in with Carmella, and it got kind of complicated to try and do all of that at once.

I do think it would be beneficial definitely to have another title, another opportunity for other girls to win some gold.”

There has also been a call to introduce mid-card women’s title for NXT. Only time will tell whether WWE will end up unveiling a mid-card title for the women on the main roster in the future.

What’s your take on what Zelina Vega said? Do you think WWE needs a mid-card title for the women? Sound off in the comments!
