Steve Austin retired from the ring for a reason, and that time away from the squared circle provided him with time to heal and involve himself in a lot of other things. After a very long absence from the squared circle, The Texas Rattlesnake made his return at WrestleMania 38 for one match. Although he hasn’t wrestled again, you can never say never with Steve Austin.

We previously covered how Steve Austin was pitched a match at WrestleMania 39, but he turned that down. Brock Lesnar was also a possible opponent for Austin, that would make up for the match that caused Stone Cold to walk out of WWE so many years ago.

It seems that you can never close the door entirely for someone like Steve Austin. WESH2 recently spoke to Steve Austin, where he confirmed once again that WWE offered him a match at WrestleMania 39. Then he said that another match could happen again if the stars align.

“They approached me about wrestling at WrestleMania 39. I thought, what I did with Kevin, that was a great sendoff because I started in Dallas, got a chance to end in Dallas. The way we framed that match, too much wasn’t expected. I got approached to be part of 39, but the schedule of filming, I told WWE, ‘I don’t know what my life looks like until we get into production and knowing if I can train for WrestleMania 39.’ We finished this show about five to seven days before WrestleMania.

There is no way, traveling all over God’s creation in an RV with a 35-pound dumbbell, a 45-pound sandbag, and some kettlebells, that I could have gotten in that kind of shape. In the future, I’m not saying I will get back in the ring, but like I said at 38, if the stars align, anything could happen.”

Steve Austin is able to bring fans to a fever pitch, even as a retired WWE Hall of Famer. To just have Austin back for a couple Stunners would leave fans happy, but he obviously wants more for himself when he gets in the ring.

Steve Austin vs Kevin Owens might not be Austin’s final match. Even if it was, he would have still left a lifetime of memories in the squared circle.

What’s your take on Steve Austin coming back for another match? Who do you want to see Austin face? Sound off in the comments!
