WWE is certainly aware of the pro wrestling free agent pool, so they have to know that Nick Aldis is no longer under NWA contract. The former NWA Heavyweight Champion had a falling out with Billy Corgan and left to pursue his own destiny, but WWE might not be an option.

It’s always important that the bosses in a company like you, especially if you’re looking for a job. It’s unclear if Nick Aldis is 100% interested in WWE, but Bruce Prichard’s position as Executive Director of WWE programming might give Aldis some issues.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about Nick Aldis’ situation a bit. It was noted that Bruce Prichard’s presence backstage in WWE could throw a wrench in his potential signing.

I know that there were issues, I mean, Bruce Prichard at one point, I don’t know what the situation is today, but at one point Bruce Prichard was not a fan of Nick Aldis. So, it was always one of those things where with Bruce Prichard in power [it wasn’t happening].”

It was noted that Nick Aldis has a great body, and he can certainly wrestle. At 36-years-old, his age could play against him in this situation, because WWE likes to hire younger talent.

We will have to see what happens in the future. For all we know, WWE’s new owners could clean house and Bruce Prichard won’t be an issue for Nick Aldis in WWE much longer. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more on this, and every other, story going on in the pro wrestling world.
