Mercedes Mone’s Next IWGP Women’s Title Defense Confirmed

Mercedes Moné had a falling out with WWE that ultimately led to her partying ways with the company in 2022. The former Sasha Banks signed a deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling to appear at their Wrestle Kingdom 17 event at the Tokyo Dome on January 4, 2023.

Mercedes Moné had a stare down with KAIRI at NJPW’s biggest event. The two stars squared off for the IWGP Women’s Championship at Battle in the Valley in California on February 18, 2023. Mercedes dethroned KAIRI for the title. Now, she’s set for her first title defense.

NJPW announced that Mercedes Moné will put her IWGP Women’s Championship on the line against Hazuki and AZM in a triple threat match at the promotion’s Sakura Genesis show on Saturday, April 8th.
