FTR Was Initially Upset Over The Young Bucks’ Digs At Them On Being The Elite

Before arriving in AEW as FTR, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler were known as The Revival in WWE. During their initial years in the company, FTR quickly became one of the best tag teams in the company and even captured the NXT Tag Team Championships.

Dax & Cash’s main roster call-up didn’t go according to plan, because despite their efforts they were never really given the ball to run with. The duo was involved in meaningless storylines, and it was clear their potential was being wasted on the main roster. After all, Vince McMahon was never a fan of tag team wrestling.

During that time while The Revival continued in WWE, The Young Bucks started posting videos for their ‘Being The Elite’ series where they constantly took digs at the former NXT Tag Team Champions. It was during this time that they would start using the phrase “f**k The Revival” which later was shortened to become their name in AEW.

Fightful Select posted a new interview run-down with Dax Harwood, where he discussed this situation. The Young Bucks never spoke to Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler regarding the ‘f**k the revival” skits. FTR also revealed to the outlet that they were initially upset about it, but then realized that it was getting them over on television.

“They had never spoken with Young Bucks before BTE “f**k the Revival” skits. He said “My little sensitive ass, of course I was a little upset at first when I heard it because those motherf***ers didn’t even come to me and talk to me about this. They just did it. Then I was like, ‘Well, hold on. It’s getting us over more than anything else on WWE TV.”

FTR eventually left WWE and joined AEW in 2020 and has since gone on to become one of the best tag teams in the world. They have won the AEW Tag Team Championships, IWGP Tag Team Championships, and even the ROH Tag Team Championships over the past few years.
