Roxanne Perez shocked the world by defeating Mandy Rose to become the NXT Women’s Champion. Following her win, Perez would prove to be a fighting champion and defend her title against anyone willing to step up, even if the odds were against her. However, her status as champion was under grave concern over the past few weeks.

A couple of weeks ago, Roxanne Perez collapsed after her match with Meiko Satomura to close out NXT Roadblock. It was later revealed that the collapse was part of the storyline.

However, the angle was shot to cover up a legitimate issue with Roxanne that was being evaluated. The following week, Michaels announced that there would be qualifiers for an NXT Championship ladder match at NXT Stand & Deliver.

Tiffany Stratton, Zoey Stark, Gigi Dolin, and Lyra Valkyria have all qualified and next week a last-chance three-way match between Sol Ruca, Indi Hartwell, and Ivy Nilly will determine the final participant. Although Roxanne wasn’t announced for the match, she is still listed as the champion.
