CM Punk’s run in WWE came to a shocking conclusion after the Royal Rumble in 2014 when he was frustrated with the company, leading him to simply walk out. He didn’t compete in a ring for seven years until his AEW debut back in 2021. It seems during his time in WWE, he ended up breaking a former WWE Superstar’s nose and apologized for the same.

Gene Snitsky, the former WWE superstar who appeared on the main roster between 2004 and 2008, recently shared an interesting story about his experience with CM Punk. According to Snitsky, he and Punk faced off against each other at several live events in 2007 and 2008, and they also had two one-on-one matches on RAW, which Punk won.

However, Snitsky recalled a particular incident where he suffered a broken nose after Punk’s GTS finisher connected with his face. Despite the unfortunate accident, Snitsky had nothing but praise for Punk, who apparently went above and beyond to apologize and make sure he was okay.

In an interview on the Cheap Heat Productions Podcast, Snitsky went into detail about Punk’s professionalism and character following the unfortunate incident.

“I don’t have anything bad to say about the guy. I like him, I always got along with him. He broke my nose one time with his finishing move and he was beyond apologetic, called me to make sure I was okay, the whole nine yards. It’s pro wrestling, man. It’s not tiddlywinks. S**t happens. It is what it is.”

Snitsky’s last televised WWE match ended in defeat against CM Punk on the November 24, 2008, episode of Monday Night RAW. Regardless, Snitsky will always remember his time in WWE quite fondly and that’s all that matters.

What’s your take on what Snitsky said? Did CM Punk do the right thing? Sound off in the comments!
