WWE has a lot of creative irons in the fire as they make their way to WrestleMania. Rey Mysterio swore that he wouldn’t lay a hand on his son, Dominik Mysterio, but it seems the two are headed to a collision at the show of shows. That storyline also involves Santos Escobar, and we have a spoiler for tonight’s plans.
Dominik Mysterio was introduced into WWE alongside his father. Rey Mysterio actually re-upped his WWE deal instead of venturing elsewhere because he wanted to help his son get his foot in the door. It turns out that was a wise decision, because Prison Dom has opened up a new era for the young Superstar.
Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE has plans to continue Rey Mysterio’s momentum on SmackDown this week. They will also need that mask that Santos Escobar was given for a segment this week.
WWE Smackdown creative called for the mask that Rey Mysterio gave Santos Escobar to be used in an upcoming angle.
It was also noted that, “The spot we nearly saw on Raw, where the Bloodline wrapped a chair around someone’s head was also pitched as a recurring spot, we’re told.” We will have to see how things progress on the road to WrestleMania.
Rey Mysterio ended up on the blue brand in an attempt to escape his son, Dominik Mysterio, and the Judgment Day stable. Their attacks ruined family events, Christmas included, and it seems that Mysterio’s quest to stay away from having a match against his son will not pay off.
As WWE continues to build towards WrestleMania, the storyline involving Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik has been a source of intrigue for fans. Despite Rey’s initial reluctance to face his own flesh and blood in the ring, it seems that a collision between the two is now inevitable. With Santos Escobar also involved in the storyline, there are sure to be some unexpected twists and turns on the road to the biggest show of the year. As we await the upcoming SmackDown episode, it remains to be seen what role the mask that Rey gave to Escobar will play in the upcoming angle.
