Cody Rhodes is the talk of the town after he returned at the 2023 Royal Rumble match and triumphed over all. Now The American Nightmare is set to headline WrestleMania 39 against WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns. If Cody Rhodes successfully manages to win the title at the grandest stage of them all, it would have him both end The Tribal Chief’s historic run and have his first World title.

WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes was one of the founding members of AEW, where he worked for 3 years until leaving for the WWE in 2022. Rhodes made shocking return at last year’s WrestleMania 38 where he defeated Seth Rollins, starting a rivalry between the two.

Cody Rhodes was sidelined due to a torn pectoral injury. His last match before his return was against Seth Rollins in a Hell In A Cell match, where he notably competed with purple, injured chest.

Now that Cody Rhodes is blowing up in the WWE, fans wonder whether he still keeps in touch with friends in the AEW. It looks like Cody Rhodes still keeps up with many people from the promotion that he co-founded, including the current AEW World Champion MJF.

While speaking to the Sam Roberts on the NotSam podcast, MJF stated that he hits Cody Rhodes up once in a while. The Salt of the Earth holds immense respect for the American Nightmare and rings him up when he needs a second opinion.

“I’ll still call him when I honestly need… rarely do I need advice – I mean, look at me. But I’ll call him because I respect the sh*t out of him. I’ll call him to get a second masterful opinion.”

Only time will tell if Cody Rhodes and MJF share the same ring again. If anything, they certainly made a lot of memories already. MJF is set to defend his title against Bryan Danielson at AEW Revolution. For more updates, stay tuned to Ringside News.
