Tony Khan Is Making ‘Emotional Reactions’ Because Eric Bischoff Doesn’t Respect Him

AEW President Tony Khan is very passionate about pro wrestling and that is without question. Despite this, Khan has made quite a few questionable booking decisions in the last year that have puzzled fans. Khan also doesn’t have the best relationship with Eric Bischoff, but that doesn’t mean Bischoff won’t comment on anything Khan does.

As many people are aware by now, Tony Khan and Eric Bischoff do not necessarily have the best of relationships. The two had a falling out back in 2021 and it has not really gotten any better.

Being the owner of WWE’s biggest competitor, Tony Khan is always compared to Vince McMahon. This is despite the fact that Khan has gone on record and stated that he isn’t anything like McMahon.

While speaking on the 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff stated that he believes Tony Khan should have done things differently as a promoter to be in the same conversation as Vince McMahon. He also advised Khan not to be driven by internet reactions.

“I think Tony reacts more out of emotion. I think part of Tony’s reactions is more emotional reactions based on the fact that he’s not getting the kind of respect from me. I know this as a fact, we have a mutual friend who got a text that basically said so, and I’ve heard it from more than one person.”

“My criticisms are not meant to be towards Tony the person, I have some admiration for Tony the person, particularly as of late. I think Tony the person, is a really good person. I think I disagree with his approach to the business.”

“You’re not driven by the internet, you’re driven by the television audience. The success or failure of your company Tony is not how well the dirt sheet universe and the internet wrestling community react to you, it’s how well the general audience, who may not even participate in that stuff, react to you.”

It is highly unlikely Tony Khan and Eric Bischoff will have a good relationship anytime soon. Regardless, we will have to wait and see what Tony Khan will have planned for fans in the future.
