Jay Briscoe will always be remembered as a legendary tag team wrestler known for his incredible in-ring abilities and willingness to perform for fans. His passing has deeply impacted the wrestling community and they continue to mourn his loss. His funeral was held recently and it seems Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn flew directly after the Royal Rumble to attend the funeral.

Apart from Jay Briscoe, the driver of the truck also passed away. Jay’s two daughters who were in the truck with him survived the accident with major injuries and are currently undergoing extensive physical therapy

As previously reported, a donation page was set up by Briscoe’s family friend for fans to offer their help for the Pugh family. In fact, it ended up smashing its original goal of $50K, getting close to $300k.

Jay Briscoe’s funeral service was also streamed on YouTube. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn flew directly after the Royal Rumble to attend the funeral.

“There were so many people who came in from all over the country. I mean, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn flew in from the Royal Rumble. Straight there.

They were out, when did the Rumble end? Eastern time, that Rumble ended after midnight right? It ended at 12:20 [AM] Eastern, they were in San Antonio, they were in Delaware, which probably doesn’t have an international airport so you’re probably flying in there for something that started at 1.”

AEW also held a Jay Briscoe tribute show on last week’s episode of Dynamite, which turned out to be a very emotional episode for fans. Jay Briscoe will forever live on in the hearts and minds of his family, friends and fans and that’s all that matters.
