The 2023 Royal Rumble was the 36th annual Royal Rumble professional wrestling pay-per-view produced by WWE. It was held for wrestlers from the promotion’s RAW and SmackDown brand divisions. The event saw multiple returns of former Superstars during the Rumble matches. Cody Rhodes emerged victorious in the 30-Man Royal Rumble match, while Rhea Ripley outlasted 29 other Superstars to punch her ticket to WrestleMania 39. The event was somewhat of a mixed bag, with quite a few predictable outcomes and surprise returns. One unexpected name backstage belonged to another company, and now Ricky Starks is speaking out.

Multiple AEW talents took to Twitter to congratulate Cody Rhodes on the epic Royal Rumble victory. AEW sensation Ricky Starks was among the well-wishers.

After the Royal Rumble, a photo of Ricky Starks arriving backstage at the event did the rounds on social media. The photo immediately went viral, and fans have been speculating the plausible possibilities ever since.

The photo appears to be a surveillance camera screenshot. Nevertheless, fans have been gossiping that Ricky Starks may be looking for a career in WWE at some point.

Ricky Starks reacted to the photo on Twitter with a joke about “GTV,” the storyline that played out for weeks on WWE TV during 1998-99. According to the storyline, someone would be setting up surveillance cameras in different areas of the arena. Unfortunately, the storyline never reached a conclusion but for years, there’s been the popular notion that Goldust would have been revealed as the person behind the GTV.

Damn they brought back GTV

From 2012-2018, Ricky Starks worked as an enhancement talent for WWE. It wasn’t until he moved over to NWA that he came into the spotlight. Only time will tell what the future holds for Ricky Starks, but he seemed very comfortabel backstage in WWE.
