Ever since The Usos won the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, they have been unstoppable. They ran through everyone on their way to becoming the longest-reigning tag team champions in history. Naturally, the rest of the tag team division needs to pick up the pace.

While The Usos’ title run has been nothing short of entertaining, their dominance has left an open gap in the tag team division. The big question is who is left for The Usos to face since they have beaten everyone.

Recently, WWE’s tag team division has been getting a breadth of fresh air with new tag teams added to the mix. Legado Del Fantasma, Viking Raiders, and Brawling Brutes are some of the new tag teams looking to get an opportunity at the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles.

To solve this problem, it was announced last week that there will be a SmackDown Tag Team Tournament starting this week to decide to will face The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

Earlier today WWE announced a first-round match for the tournament. It will be Brawling Brutes who will renew their rivalry from a couple of months ago with Imperium. These two teams were just involved in a heated rivalry not too long ago and hence, fans can expect a banger.

Another thing that seemed to catch the fans’ attention was that WWE is labeling this tournament as the SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament. This could mean that WWE is finally looking to separate the titles.

Tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown is already shaping up to be pretty exciting. Drew McIntyre and Sheamus will face Viking Raiders in their first-round match in the SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament.
