Ric Flair is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, and his record speaks for itself. He is a bona fide draw, which is why his asking price is so high, literally. That being said, the Nature Boy can’t make everything work out in his busy schedule.

FWE Wrestling conducted an event from Dorton Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, on December 10th. Kurt Angle, Gangrel, Billy Gunn, Brian Cage, and others were scheduled to appear at the event. Ric Flair also agreed to appear, but plans fell through.

Sylvian Grenier recently appeared on the Culture State podcast. He stated that Ric fought his last match six months ago and was doing appearances. He described how hard they worked to get him on the show.

We were ‘that close’ to getting Ric Flair for the show. He had wrestled his last match six months ago and was doing appearances, we really tried hard. Ric actually said yes, but I think it was his agent, he had some other stuff to take care of and the travel and the schedule, it was that close. Maybe next time. Now, we have Billy Gunn, who is on TV with AEW.

Flair’s last match was on July 31st, when he partnered with Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. He has made several appearances since then. Grenier is a former WWE World Tag Team Champion who also works for the company as a producer.

Let’s see whether Ric Flair steps forward to explain what happened. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Ringside News.
