Bob Holly, more famously known as Hardcore Holly, enjoyed a long 15-year tenure with WWE. Throughout his career, he ruffled a few feathers here and there due to his aggressiveness in the ring. Recently, a former WWE star has disclosed some grievances he had with Holly concerning his in-ring style.

GIllberg was known to be a parody of WCW’s top superstar Goldberg during the Monday Night Wars. In a January 1994 episode of RAW, Gillberg had a 3-minute match with Hardcore Holly, where Holly was a bit stiff during the match.

On Rene Dupree’s Cafe de Rene podcast, Gillber revealed that he was so infuriated with Hardcore Holly after the match that he was even ready to greet him with a steel chair when he returned backstage. Several higher-ups were there to witness the former Light Heavyweight Champion’s anger, including then-WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

“I did his tryout match for him, and he beat the sh*t out of me. I mean, he beat my ass this bad. I came back through the curtain, right in front of Gorilla Monsoon, Tony Garea, and Vince [McMahon] sitting there. I grabbed the f*cking folded chair, folded it up, patted it on the ground, and I’m standing there.”

Gillberg was the longest reigning WWF Light Heavyweight Champion, having spent 15 months with the title. He reprised his role as Gillberg in January 2021 during The Dirtsheet segment by John Morrison and The Miz. For more updates, stay tuned to Ringside News.
