Braun Strowman was heavily pushed during his first run with WWE. That wasn’t surprising given Vince McMahon’s penchant for big, strong men. Strowman fit the bill perfectly as a big guy who could move fast and perform incredible feats of strength.

The formula worked perfectly well. Strowman would appear on WWE programming every week and showcase his ridiculous strength. In one instance, he even toppled over a truck. This helped him get over with the fans and resulted in Strowman winning the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36 against Goldberg.

However. Braun Strowman’s Universal Title run didn’t match the expectations of the fans. Things got worse for Strowman after losing the title. He was surprisingly released in June 2021. This was surprising because he was WWE’s top guy just a few months prior to being released.

During a recent episode of The Kurt Angle Show, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle believes that Braun Strowman should’ve never been released from the company in 2021.

“Braun’s a very valuable asset. He should’ve never left WWE. Should’ve never happened. The guy knows how to wrestle, he knows how to talk, he looks great, he’s a 350 pound monster. You don’t let a guy like that go. I don’t know how or why that happened. Maybe it was for money reasons, I don’t know. But Braun Strowman’s back in the right place. He needs to be in WWE. That’s where he deserves to be,” said Kurt Angle

Braun Strowman made his WWE return earlier this year. Although he wasn’t immediately thrust into the main event spot, he is still being billed as an indestructible monster. We will have to wait and see if Strowman manages to reach the height of his initial WWE run.
