During the ’90s, Shawn Michaels was the top guy in the world of professional wrestling. Shawn Michaels was part of the infamous group The Kliq with Triple H, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash. Shawn Michaels made lot of enemies by running with this group. At one point, Shawn Michaels became the most hated man in the entire industry.
However, while the whole industry hated him, Triple H stood by his side. Hence, the two men have formed an inseparable bond over the years. In a recent appearance on the ImPaulsive podcast, Shawn Michaels discussed how Triple H has always been by his side even when he was the most hated man in the industry.
“I know everybody can only see him now as the head cheese, but he wasn’t then. I was the top dude at that time, and he was the guy still waiting for his first break, and he was a friend of mine.”
“He was the best friend of the most hated guy in the company and in the business. And he never left my side. He could’ve thrown me under the bus at any point, saved himself, you know what I mean? (…) For me, that’s the kind of stuff I can cry about, but how can I not give every ounce of myself for whatever he needs me to do?”
Shawn Michaels’ friendship with Triple is paying dividends today. He is currently tasked with running NXT, making him one of the key elements of WWE’s future.
