Doubt Over CM Punk Ever Returning To WWE

CM Punk parted ways with WWE after the Royal Rumble in 2014 after being frustrated with the company, which led to him walking out on it. Punk had made it clear on so many occasions that he never wanted to wrestle again. That all changed as he ended up debuting in AEW.

Punk has been the subject of controversy ever since he cut a shoot promo on Adam Page earlier this year. The brawl after AEW All Out certainly did him no favors.

While speaking on her Eyes Up Here podcast, ECW legend Francine made it clear that she doubts CM Punk will ever go back to WWE, even if he does leave AEW.

“Do we really think that Punk wants another run (with WWE)?” said Francine. “Has he been out there saying, ‘You know, I want another WWE run?’ He kind of left there like ‘eh’. He kind of s*** on them. It wasn’t the best departure from what I recall. He gets an offer years later from AEW, this stuff happens. Unfortunately, he’s out again. Do we know that he wants to continue in this business?

Because it’s WWE, does he get that massive pop because he returns back to that company who got rid of him years ago? Or, does he bow out gracefully and say, ‘Well, I gave it another run, it didn’t work out the way I wanted it to. I got some money, I’ll sit home and relax. I’ll do other things’. Maybe not MMA or independent wrestling, but maybe there’s other things he can do with his life.”

There is also the belief that Punk might just return to WWE now that Triple H is in control. We will have to wait and see whether he will go back to WWE or not.
