On this week’s episode of WWE NXT, a match was held in order to determine the number one contenders for the “NXT” Tag Team Titles. During the match, Josh Briggs had a sequence of moves that AEW fans recognized to be JD Drake’s moves.

By the looks of it, Drake noticed it too, and if Briggs was doing a homage to Drake, it was not something Drake necessarily appreciated.

Following the conclusion of the match, JD Drake took to Twitter and made it clear that Josh Briggs should have at least acknowledged what JD Drake did instead of blatantly copying his moves.

At least let them know where you got it from Josh Briggs. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I did this in 2015-16. Worked with Josh in Evolve for a few years. Guess I made an impression

Right after JD Drake’s tweet, his long-time Workhorsemen tag team partner, and fellow AEW star, Anthony Henry, also chimed in, supporting him.

He has done this since I have known him. Never seen Josh do it until now.

Drake, Henry, and Briggs worked together in EVOLVE from 2018 to 2020 after Briggs joined the promotion. Both Henry and Drake would face Briggs once each in three-way matches. We’ll have to see if the similarities continue.
