AEW President Tony Khan is certainly very passionate about pro wrestling and no one really doubts that. However, Khan has gained a lot of notoriety as of late, dating back to the beginning of this year.

During the post-AEW All Out media scrum, CM Punk went ballistic on Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and The Young Bucks. It then devolved into a very ugly brawl backstage, resulting in many people getting suspended.

During AEW Dynamite last week, Tony Khan announced a tournament to crown a new AEW World Champion after Punk was stripped of the title. He did the same for the Trios Titles. Khan didn’t mention Punk or the Elite whatsoever.

While speaking on the Strictly Business podcast. Eric Bischoff talked about Tony Khan addressing the situation. Bischoff stated that he believes Khan should have said more.

“I wish Tony had said something other than just saying he ‘vacated the titles’ because you can’t assume everyone on the show is following on the internet,” he said, “You have to mention what’s going on.

To casual fans who didn’t watch anything or know anything,” Bischoff said, “now you don’t know.”

With CM Punk likely out of action for around 8 months, we will have to wait and see how the company will fare without him. In the meantime, the future of AEW remains dubious.
