Tony Khan Explains Reason Behind CM Punk vs Jon Moxley Squash Match

Jon Moxley debuted at AEW Double Or Nothing 2019 and took no time in becoming one of the company’s mainstays. He has competed against the best of the best the company has to offer as well. Tony Khan also believes his latest match was an important one.

As seen on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, The Purveyor Of Violence faced CM Punk in an AEW World Title unification match. Moxley squashed Punk in under three minutes to become the undisputed AEW World Champion.

While speaking during AEW’s All Out conference call, AEW President Tony Khan claimed that the aforementioned squash match built interest and intrigue for AEW All Out. Sean Sapp paraphrased what TK said in his response.

Tony Khan believes that they built more interest and intrigue with the Punk vs. Moxley TV match. It created a week of people loudly wondering what was going on and it was a ratings success for them.

CM Punk is also the favorite to win against Jon Moley at AEW All Out. We will have to wait and see how the match turns out.
