WWE finally called Tommaso Ciampa up to the main roster after years in NXT. Now fans are getting to see him as The Miz’s cohort. That was how Vince McMahon booked him, but it’s not his show anymore.

Triple H is in control, and it appears Ciampa is getting a fresh coat of paint. According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, Ciampa is in for a new character, and that might also include bringing back elements of his persona that clicked in the past.

There are increased discussions about enhancing the presentation of Ciampa. Obviously Ciampa is a Triple H favorite, and was looked at one of the likely beneficiaries of the regime change.

Among some of the things we’ve heard is Ciampa being put in more matches that showcase his ability — possibly as early as tonight. In addition, there were discussions about him regaining his NXT theme, but we’ve not learned if that was confirmed.

It was further reported that, “One source said that his demeanor has been “great,” and he’s worked hard to make the most out of everything presented to him under Vince, when he didn’t even originally plan to ever be on Raw or Smackdown. In addition, as you can imagine, Ciampa’s promo with the Miz turned a lot of heads and impressed several people backstage.”

Triple H worked closely with Ciampa for years. It wouldn’t surprise anyone at all to see him break out of his shell and really start performing at a high level now that The Game is calling the shots. Only time will tell what happens next, but Triple H is obviously booking with the intention to make an impression.
