Vince McMahon’s retirement has garnered a lot of reactions throughout the pro wrestling world. The former chairman and CEO of WWE announced his retirement amid hush money controversy that rocked the industry. Despite his alleged improprieties, McMahon is still a revered figure by many of those whose lives he changed.

One such person is Kevin Nash. Nash was floundering in WCW before jumping ship to WWE and becoming Diesel. Once he made a name for himself, he and Scott Hall took lucrative offers from Eric Bischoff to form the nWo. The rest, as they say, is history.

Speaking on his ‘Kliq This‘ podcast, Kevin Nash said he was thankful for Vince McMahon. While his greatest fame came in WCW, he does not believe he would have reached those heights without first becoming Diesel. Nash said he would love to have a cigar and a glass of wine with his old boss any time.

“I just wanted to say to Vince McMahon personally that right now I’m sitting in my oceanfront podcast studio, and my son and I will drive 1.6 miles down the beach to our oceanfront home. And without you believing in me, I would have none of this. There’s no NWO with no Diesel.

And so I just wanted to personally say thank you. And thank you for what you’ve done for our industry. And I don’t know what the f*ck you’re gonna do, man but if you ever want to drink some f*cking red wine, I’ll pick you up in the Bronco. Fly that private sh*t down to Daytona Beach. I can pick you up in the Bronco [and we’ll] go smoke a cigar and have some f*cking wine.”

Kevin Nash made his biggest splash in wrestling outside of WWE. He still thanks Vince McMahon for making it possible. That just goes to show just how influential McMahon has been in pro wrestling for decades.
