Edge has been missing in action since being turned on by The Judgment Day. WWE stated that he received a non-displaced orbital floor fracture during the attack. Since then, fans have been anxiously awaiting his return.

WWE originally wanted Edge to come back before SummerSlam. He was slated to travel to Raw at Madison Square Garden with his wife, Beth Phoenix. Those plans changed, and The Rated R Superstar didn’t make it.

Mike Johnson of PW Insider addressed Edge’s status for SummerSlam in a recent Q&A. He noted that Edge and Beth Phoenix were slated for Nashville in some capacity. There is no word on if that is still the case.

“In our Elite section, We reported that Edge and Beth Phoenix were both slated for MSG but then reported plans changed shortly after the Vince McMahon exit. The original plans had them slated for Summerslam weekend, but there’s no word whether that is still happening or they are holding off.”

There has been some speculation that Edge could be the reason Seth Rollins’ match with Matt Riddle was pulled from SummerSlam. There is nothing concrete to support that at the moment, but the belief is that Rollins will have a match on the show. Edge might be a wise choice.

Time will tell if Edge and Beth Phoenix make it to Nashville. Right now, WWE is keeping mostly quiet about his status. It will be one of many interesting things to keep an eye on as we get closer to the biggest party of the Summer.
