‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair is set to have his supposed final match this weekend in Nashville. The Hall of Famer will team with his son-in-law, Andrade El Idolo, to take on the team of Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. What many fans don’t know is that AEW President Tony Khan had a hand in the direction of Flair’s upcoming outing.

During his interview on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet,” Flair revealed that he and Conrad Thompson had plans to include talent from AEW. Although AEW talent is now involved, Tony Khan initially had trepidations about the idea.

Conrad and I put it together initially. We were going to go outside and get some people from AEW, and then it all became a little political with Tony. I’m not sure why he changed things around, but it’s okay. We worked around it and we’re sold out, and that’s all that matters.

For a minute, it seemed FTR would be involved in Flair’s final outing along with Rick ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat. However, Steamboat would deny the rumors of his involvement, and WWE’s Jeff Jarrett would announce his involvement soon afterward. Despite all the rumors, Flair at least can have his one last dance under the sun this weekend in Nashville.
