Friday was quite an eventful day for pro wrestling fans. Vince McMahon stepped away from WWE. Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan were named co-CEO’s. Triple H also resumed his duties as Executive Vice President Talent Relations.

It was previously reported that Brock Lesnar refused to work SmackDown this week. The Beast was furious about the news of McMahon’s retirement and left the building. WWE Creative were forced to make last minute changes to the script for the show and even removed Lesnar from the internal listing.

Lesnar shocked everyone when he made a surprise return during the closing moments of the show. The multi-time world champion entered the ring and delivered a couple of F5s to Theory. Sean Sapp provided an update on the whole Brock Lesnar situation from behind his paywall.

For those wondering about the Brock Lesnar, Fightful learned an update. Fightful was able to confirm Bryan Alvarez’s report that Brock Lesnar was upset following the Vince McMahon retirement announcement, and left the building. PWInsider was also able to corroborate this report.

WWE had pulled Brock Lesnar from advertising as they weren’t sure that he’d actually be at the show. However, we’re told that things blew over, and Lesnar returned. One source called the situation “overblown” but admitted they didn’t know if he’d end up actually being on the show. The script was re-written and didn’t feature Brock Lesnar at all. The rundown also did not feature Lesnar, and the last segment was left in a way that Lesnar could be included.

Lesnar is set to face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a Last Man Standing match next Saturday. Keep reading Ringside News for more from the world of pro wrestling.
