WWE Forgot Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo Were Cousins

Angel Garza and Humberto Carillo have been having a blast as a tag team on WWE SmackDown. They’ve been portraying Latin lovers with kiss cam gimmick that brings some laughs to the show. Los Lotharios aren’t just good friends with great chemistry, they’re cousins.

WWE seems to have forgotten that when they were finally convinced to put the two together as a team. After pitching themselves as a duo for some time, WWE finally gave in. Angel and Humberto have been together ever since.

Sean Sapp recently spoke to Los Lotharios in a story behind Fightful’s paywall. Angel Garza noted that the pair tried out together when they first tried to get hired by WWE. They did everything together, but the company never realized that they were related.

“They’re supposed to know that. When they hired us, we did the tryout together. We did everything together. We moved to Orlando almost together. I think they knew we were cousins. But after that, they were like, ‘Oh, you guys are cousins?’ Yes, we are. It all feels natural.”

Angel Garza and his wife just recently welcomed baby boy into the world. He gets to work with his cousin every day. Things are going pretty well for Los Lotharios.

While the team has been effectively shut out of the tag title picture for the moment, they always put on a good show for the fans. Time will tell if bigger push is in their future. For now, they’re just happy to be paired up and having the time of their lives.
