WWE remained a PG-rated product since 2008, as they stopped catering to the TV-14 demographic. Fans were disgruntled by this as they felt the lack of edgy content made the product unwatchable. Eric Bischoff also doubts WWE’s TV-14 move has anything to do with AEW.

Vince McMahon’s company got fans very excited when news broke that Raw would be moving from TV-PG rating to TV-14. However, that initial report jumped the gun, as the source came from a prematurely leaked memo.

While speaking on a recent episode of his Strictly Business podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff made it clear he doubts WWE’s TV-14 move has anything to do with AEW.

It really isn’t as if WWE is losing audience to AEW. It is what it is and WWE is not losing market share to AEW. So why would they react to something that has zero effect on them?

WWE is also not expected to push the TV-14 rating too far. It remains to be seen how the overall product will change in the coming months.
